THE ART AND TECHNOLOGY IN MODERN INTERDISCIPLINARY TREATMENT PLANNING

The new generation of Interdisciplinary software allows us to develop complete digital workflows, from facial analysis and 3D smile design all the way to interdisciplinary planning and fabrication of all components, appliances, guides and restorations needed.

The workflow creates a unique predictability and efficiency by digitally linking the initial mock-up to the provisional and final restorations. This initial 3D project is also overlapped with Ortho 3D, CAD/CAM, Guided Surgery and Orthognathic software creating a realistic and precise interdisciplinary treatment all developed in one platform.

Another important highlight of this process is the impact on patient education and motivation increasing drastically case acceptance through visual communication and emotional link.

This lecture will also cover the process of implementation of this technology and options according to the dental office business model.

THE GREAT REWRITE

We are living in a unique moment in history, when revolutionary change is occurring at a frenzied pace. Whereas the Industrial Revolution took over a century to cement, widespread change now happens in decades, or even in just years.

In fact, the last five years have been some of the most tumultuous in history, coming on the end of the financial crisis and giving way to huge bounds in technological advancement in every sector. While change used to happen from the top down, through governments and management, change now happens from the ground up, with savvy entrepreneurs dictating everything from new technology, to currency, to banking practices, to what’s being called “the internet of things”.

This massive scale of disruption has understandably left organizations on shaky footing, struggling to engage consumers and employees alike and stay relevant. Those that learn to adapt to this rapid pace of change, that allow themselves to be “rewritten” for the modern day, will survive and prosper. Leonard Brody explains the answer to this widespread uncertainty, and how to harness it in your organization.

THE “SLEEP” REVOLUTION & THE EVOLUTION OF “DENTAL SLEEP MEDICINE”

“Dental Sleep Medicine (DSM) has been one of the fastest growing areas of dentistry over the past decade. It is estimated that the Sleep Apnea and Diagnostic and Therapeutics market will grow to over $7 billion by 2019. The Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) market will continue to grow  by over 5 times, to over 1 million patients treated every year in the US market alone by 2023.

Although Dental Sleep Medicine, may seem like a relatively new area in this field, Sleep Medicine has been around for many years and the pathophysiology of Obstructive Sleep Apnea have been known for over 3 decades.

This lecture will allow the audience to learn more about the history, pathophysiology and pathogenesis of the Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Sleep Disordered Breathing and it’s systemic health consequences, when left untreated.

Also, the latest technology developments and research findings in the field of Dental Sleep Medicine will be discussed. The audience will also get a great understanding of the latest treatment options available to the patient and will learn about practice management and implementation tools and ideas; including digital work-flow model.

Most importantly the presenters will discuss the important role of dentistry in this field and why every dentist should learn about DSM and OAT.”

FUTURE FABRICATED WITH LIGHT: CONTINUOUS LIQUID INTERFACE PRODUCTION TO DRIVE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

This lecture will describe a new advance in additive manufacturing that is rapid, continuous and no longer layer-by-layer that promises to advance industry beyond basic prototyping to 3D manufacturing. The new Continuous Liquid Interface Production technology (CLIP) harnesses light and oxygen to continuously grow objects from a pool of resin instead of printing them layer-by-layer. CLIP capitalizes on the fundamental principle of oxygen inhibited photopolymerization to generate a continual liquid-interface of uncured resin between the growing part and the exposure window. This interface eliminates the necessity of an iterative layer-by-layer process allowing for continuous production. CLIP technology raises the state-of-the-art in additive manufacturing in three ways:

  • GAME-CHANGING SPEED: 25-100 times faster than conventional 3D printing
  • COMMERCIAL QUALITY: produces objects with consistent mechanical properties
  • MATERIAL CHOICE: enables a broad range of polymeric materials

DIGITAL OCCLUSION AND DISCLUSION TIME REDUCTION (DTR)

Digital occlusal analysis brings objective occlusal contact force measurement, and tooth contact time sequence display capability in 3/1000ths of a second, to clinical dentistry.

Over the last 33 years, the T-Scan computerized occlusal analysis technology has been evolving making today’s T-Scan 9 to be highly precise, repeatable, and accurate.  The T-Scan allows the clinician to “see” occlusion in ways analog occlusal indicators cannot.

This table clinic will illustrate advantages digital occlusion holds over analog occlusal indicators. Case presentations involving a splintless TMD therapy and reconstructive cases will be presented.

MEMORY AND THE TURBOCHARGED BRAIN

In this short interactive Keynote Presentation, Bob reveals the untapped memory potential in each of us. He begins by sharing the hilarious story of how his unique skills enabled him to immigrate into Canada. The fact that he was able to write extemporaneously upside down (plus upside down and backwards with both hands and feet while blindfolded and speaking phonetically backwards) pretty much proved to a stunned immigration official that he was not taking a job from a Canadian – or for that matter, anyone else on the planet!

Bob then delivers two incredibly powerful memory demonstrations, which never fail to astonish. After entertaining the audience with his own memory, he enriches their minds by teaching the hilarious and practical ‘Chain’ system. (A system dating all the way back to ancient Greece, which is an invaluable tool for memorizing speeches, presentations lists, complex equations and more!)

The members of the audience always leave grinning and eager to test their new skills. Watch them practice recall at conferences, on the road, at home, and at the office.

Are you ready to accelerate you memory into rapid recall? The skills lie a short keynote away.
